Slow feeders

A slow feeder is a bowl with ridges, posts or a maze. The dog or cat has to pick food out instead of taking it in one mouthful. It is the least exciting enrichment on this site, and often the one a fast eater actually needs.

Wet food gets stuck in deep mazes. If you feed a soggy mix, a lick mat may be easier to clean. Check the listing for dishwasher advice rather than assuming every bowl can go in the machine.
